Deputy Director Zhi Jichao Attends the 2023 “High-Level Forum on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation” at Renmin University of China

On October 27, 2023, the “High-Level Forum on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation 2023” was successfully held at Renmin University of China. The forum was hosted by the Institute for the Study of Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation and the Research Base for the Chinese Nation Community at Renmin University of China.

Professor Qi Pengfei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University and Chief Expert of the Research Base, delivered the opening speech. He also co-chaired the keynote session with Professor Zhai Zhenwu, a renowned scholar in philosophy and social sciences, President of the China Population Association, and Chair Professor at Renmin University.

The forum brought together more than 50 experts and scholars from renowned institutions across China, including Peking University, Southeast University, East China Normal University, Jilin University, Jinan University, Sichuan University, Soochow University, Wuhan University, Yunnan University, Zhejiang University, the Party School of the CPC Central Committee (National Academy of Governance), the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Minzu University of China.

During the forum, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics such as the construction of an independent knowledge system for the Sinicization and modernization of Marxist ethnic theories, the historical and current dynamics of interactions among Chinese ethnic groups, and the pathways for all ethnic groups to achieve common prosperity and modernization.

Associate Director Zhi Jichao ofChinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University delivered a presentation titled “The Ontological Argument for the Existence of the Chinese National Community.” His insightful contributions enriched the discussions, reflecting the center’s commitment to advancing research on national unity and ethnic studies.

This forum highlights the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing key issues of national and academic significance, contributing to the theoretical and practical progress in forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
