Professor Guo Yonghu Participates in the 4th National Seminar on Anti-Secession Theory and Strategies for Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation

On October 14, 2023, the 4th National Seminar on Anti-Secession Theory and Strategies for Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation was held at Lanzhou University. The seminar was hosted by the Central Asia Research Institute and the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, with support from the editorial team of Research on United Front Studies.

Representatives from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and relevant departments of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission attended the seminar to provide guidance. Cao Aihui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Lanzhou University, delivered the opening speech, and Chang Hong, Party Secretary of the School of Politics and International Relations, presided over the opening ceremony.

The seminar brought together nearly 80 experts and scholars from over 20 universities and research institutions across China, including the China Tibetology Research Center, Jilin University, Jinan University, China University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, East China Normal University, Xinjiang Academy of Social Sciences, Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics, the Party School of the CPC Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Committee, Xinjiang Normal University, Shaanxi Normal University, Zhejiang Normal University, and Shanxi University of Finance and Economics.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on various topics, including strategies for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation and China’s anti-secession strategy, the new challenges and responses in the current anti-secession struggle, the practice of Chinese modernization in Xinjiang, and the theory and practice of “culture-based governance in Xinjiang.”

Professor Guo Yonghu, an expert from the Chinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University, delivered a presentation on recent U.S. activities concerning Tibet and their impacts, contributing valuable insights to the academic exchange.
