In order to deeply study and implementPresiendtXi Jinping's important thoughts on strengthening and improving ethnic work, to solidly promote the education of Consolidating the“Sense of the Chinese Nation as One Single Community”, and to further strengthen the construction of the courseThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation,Chinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University (CNNSC)held a collective lesson preparation meeting for the fall semester 2024 of the courseIntroduction ofthe ChineseNation asOneSingleCommunityin the meeting room 316 of LynZhenYu Building at noon of September 5th. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Wang Cheng, Deputy Director ofCNNSC, and attended by Prof. Luo Kequan, Director ofCNNSC, Prof. Shao Yanmin, Director of Academic Committee, and all the members of the teaching team ofThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation.

At the meeting, Prof. Wang Cheng, deputy director ofCNNSC, made a report on the construction, teaching arrangement, and teaching and research projects of this semester's “Introduction” course, and studied Prof. Wang Yanzhong's article on the textbook from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with the teachers, which deepened the team's understanding of the overall structure of the textbook. According to Prof. Wang Cheng, “As a new course,The Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation, and the content of the textbook is characterized by the cross-fertilization of multiple disciplines, teachers are under great pressure to prepare for the class. Teachers from many colleges and disciplines participated in the course, which precisely reflects the multidisciplinary advantages of Jilin University. Teachers can follow the content of each chapter of the textbook and integrate their relevant academic research results into the teaching, so as to make the characteristics of Jilin University in the teaching of the course. The high quality of course teaching cannot be carried out without teaching research, teachers can focus on their own teaching topics, teaching ideas, key points, case teaching and troubleshooting, etc. to carry out teaching research, forming a compilation of team teaching results, and providing experience summarization and material support for the continuous development of subsequent course teaching.”
Professor Shao Yanmin, Director of the Academic Committee of theCNNSC, made a suggestion on the assessment aspect of course teaching: “As anoptionalcourse, students can sort out the relevant chapter overviews afterstudyingeach small chapter, and eventually form a total course overview, which not only helps students understand the logical reasoning ofThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation, but also makes it easier to get into theirbrains.”

In the collective seminar, the participating teachers spoke enthusiastically and conducted in-depth discussions on the study,promotionand teachingof the teaching materials ofThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation. Opinions and suggestions were put forward on strengthening the ideological and political nature of the “Introduction” course, grasping the status of the main line of casting a firm sense of the Chinese national community, and strengthening the construction and sharing of curriculum resources.
This preparation will provide teaching ideas for the teaching ofconsolidatinga firm sense of Chinese Nation as One Single Community in our school, and indicate the direction of how to use the teaching materials ofIntroduction ofThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation., which is an organic combination of theory and practice, and will help the smooth implementation of the course ofThe Introduction of Community for the Chinese Nation.
