On the morning of July 26, from 10:30 to 11:10, Zhang Mou, Director of the Department of Theoretical Research at the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, visited Chinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University during his participation in the Compilation of the Core Volume ofThe History of Interaction, Communication, and Integration of the Chinese Nation. He was accompanied by Hu Ying, Deputy Director of the Jilin Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission, Zhang Gaoquan, Director of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission Office, and Ma Xiao, Principal Staff Member. Han Xiping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin University Committee and Chief Expert of Chinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University, led a group of experts and scholars from the center to receive Director Zhang Mou and the provincial leaders.

During the visit, Han Xiping first expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission for their support and attention to Chinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin University. He also extended sincere thanks to the leaders of the Jilin Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission for their repeated visits and unwavering support for the center’s work. Han Xiping provided an overview of the center's establishment process, its preliminary achievements, ongoing research projects, and future development directions. He emphasized that the center’s formation and growth have received strong backing and priority attention from the university’s leadership.

Zhang illustrated the importance of focusing on original research achievements and ensuring that the research bases project a distinct Chinese voice in their findings. He expressed his hope thatChinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin Universitywould achieve notable success in fundamental theoretical research, physical anthropology, and Northeast ethnic history studies.

He noted that the Northeast Ethnic Research Center is the only base in Northeast China established under the“Four Ministries”initiative. The center is actively consolidating Jilin University's disciplinary strengths in its research efforts while bringing together experts from universities and research institutes across the province and Northeast China. The center’s singular mission is to successfully complete the tasks entrusted by the“FourMinistries”.
