To deeply implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on improving and strengthening ethnic work, and to promote academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration, the Second Forum on Research for Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nationwas held in Guangzhou from April 26 to 27, 2023. The event was hosted by the guiding units—the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Ministry of Education, and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission—and organized by the Research Base for Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation at Jinan University.
Pan Yue, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, and Director of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, delivered the keynote address, followed by presentations from Li Peilin and other distinguished speakers.
During theexperience-sharing sessionon the evening of April 26, which brought together representatives from 28 national research bases,Han Xiping, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin University Committee, delivered a speech titled"Building a Unique and Impactful Research Base at Jilin University with the Focus on Forging a Strong Sense of Community for the Chinese Nation". In his speech, Han reported to officials from the“FourMinistries”on the main research directions and tasks ofChinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin Universityduring its three-year development period. He also exchanged experiences with leaders of other research bases.
Han emphasized thatChinese Northeastern Nationality Study Center of Jilin Universitywill continue to harness the interdisciplinary strengths of the entire university, fully leverage the power of its platform, and create synergistic effects with ethnic regions. He highlighted the Center’s commitment to becoming a distinctive and impactful research base, contributing to national and regional goals.
Additionally,Luo Kequan, Vice Dean of the School of Marxism at Jilin University, was invited to participate in the forum and delivered a speech at one of the sub-forums.
