On May 14, the Meeting for the Compilation of The History of Interaction, Communication, and Integration of the Chinese Nationwas held in Beijing.Pan Yue, Vice Minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group, and Director of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, as well as Deputy Leader of the Leadership Group and Chair of the Editorial Committee for the Compilation Project, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Pan Yue emphasized that since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, General Secretary Xi Jinping has placed great importance on forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. He has called for the construction of a comprehensive theoretical system for the Chinese national community. The compilation ofThe History of Interaction, Communication, and Integration of the Chinese Nationis a concrete measure to implement this central theme. It holds profound significance in guiding all ethnic groups to establish a correct view of Chinese national history, constructing an independent source, narrative, and theoretical system for the history of the Chinese national community, and strengthening the historical and cultural foundation for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.

Pan Yue stressed the need to follow General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts on improving and strengthening ethnic work as guidance. The efforts should focus on the central theme of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, adhere to a correct view of Chinese national history, and continue addressing major theoretical issues related to theThree Interactions(interaction, communication, and integration). The research should be expanded to include region-specific studies, with continuous refinement of methodologies and institutional mechanisms. Pan urged all participants to strengthen their sense of responsibility, uphold high academic standards, enhance support for the compilation process, and facilitate the translation of results into actionable outcomes. With a clear timeline and an organized approach, all tasks for the next phase must be efficiently implemented to ensure that the project contributes significantly to the high-quality development of the Party's ethnic work in the new era.

Sun Xueyu, Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Deputy Director of the Editorial Committee for theThree InteractionsHistory, and Director of its Editorial Office, attended the meeting. Officials from relevant departments of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, chief editors of various volumes of theThree Interactionshistory, and key personnel from provincial, autonomous region, and municipal ethnic (religious) affairs commissions and bureaus, as well as Jinan University’s representatives responsible forHistorical Materials, participated in the meeting.
